Overview

Every reverb lets you set how loud the tail is. Outboard-Verb lets you set how long it lasts — six bands that stretch or shorten the decay per frequency, so the low end can ring on underneath while the top gets out of the way of the vocal. Delay and reverb live in one plugin and can run together, and the Liquid engine adds a second character that moves instead of standing still. 540 factory presets across 20 categories get you there fast — 420 reverbs, 60 delays and 60 that run both together.

Decay time, per frequency

01/Outboard-Verb

Decay time, per frequency

Six bands that change how long the tail rings, not how loud it is. Pull the highs down and the room stays big without the cymbals smearing; push the lows up and a small space gains weight it never had. It is the control most reverbs simply do not offer, and it solves the problem that usually sends you reaching for an EQ afterwards.

A second character that moves

02/Outboard-Verb

A second character that moves

The Liquid engine sits beside the classic tank as a different kind of space — one that drifts rather than sitting still. Flow sets how much it moves, Shimmer lifts a harmonic sheen above the tail, and Tide swells the whole thing slowly in and out. Switch it on and the same settings turn from a room into something closer to an instrument.

Two networks, real width

03/Outboard-Verb

Two networks, real width

Left and right run through independent networks, so the tail is genuinely wide rather than one mono tail pushed apart. That is what keeps a wide reverb from collapsing the moment someone checks the mix in mono, and it is why the stereo image stays open even at long decay times.

EQ that only touches the tail

04/Outboard-Verb

EQ that only touches the tail

Six more bands shape the wet path while the dry signal passes through untouched. Take the mud out of the reverb without dulling the source, or brighten the tail without making the vocal harsh. The curve sits over a live spectrum, so you can see what you are cutting.

Delay, reverb, or both

05/Outboard-Verb

Delay, reverb, or both

Three modes in one plugin, and switching between them crossfades instead of cutting — you can move from a clean delay to a long room mid-take without a click. Run them together and the delay feeds the reverb, which is how most of the sounds people actually want are built.

Hold it forever

06/Outboard-Verb

Hold it forever

Freeze catches the tail and sustains it indefinitely. Play a chord, hold the pad it leaves behind, and keep playing over it. Everything else stays live, so you can shape the frozen bed with the EQs while the dry signal carries on.

    07

    Ping-pong with crossfeed

Taps alternate between left and right, with crossfeed to bleed them into each other and an offset that shifts one side against the other. Separate low and high cuts keep the repeats out of the way of the source.

  • Predelay keeps it clear

    08

    Predelay keeps it clear

A measured gap between the dry hit and the start of the tail, so a vocal or a snare stays in front of the space instead of being swallowed by it. Space itself runs from a tight 0.1 seconds to a cathedral-sized 20.

  • See what the tail is doing

See what the tail is doing

A live spectrum sits behind the EQ curve, so you are shaping something you can see rather than guessing. It shows the processed signal, which makes it obvious when the reverb is what is crowding the mix.

    540 presets, 20 categories

420 reverb and Liquid presets, 60 delays and 60 that run delay into reverb — 120 of them built on the Liquid engine. Categories and search narrow it down, a heart pins the ones you keep coming back to, and your own presets sit alongside them.
