Controls

  • Master Tune — −50 to +50 cents (in the header, available on every page).
  • A4 Reference — 415–466 Hz.
  • Scala — load a .scl scale file; a .kbm keyboard mapping with the same name in the same folder is picked up automatically.
  • Reset — back to 12-TET with one click.
  • MTS-ESP — a running MTS-ESP master is followed live.

Priority: MTS-ESP over Scala, Scala over 12-TET.

How tuning works in PalmML

PalmML protects the 1:1 playback of its chromatically recorded dry samples. Master Tune, A4, Scala and MTS-ESP primarily tune the modeled resonances and the note-dependent processes around them — they do not repitch the original dry take the way a conventional sampler would. The loaded Scala mapping is currently not captured as part of a preset or plug-in state.
